Logging Time



Friends, Jim & Judy lost an old Panderosa as the
80 mphr winds swept through our valley.
Judy's initial reaction: I need a drink!



The tree broke the fence and made a huge
mess, but no homes were damaged.

Bea: Oh I'm a lumberjack and I'm okey, I sleep all night and I work all day.



He's a lumberjack and he's okey, he sleeps all night and he works all day.




And that's how we came to have a little logging fun again.

Normally we do not try to battle with 5 feet diameter trees.



Those slices make the 3 feet chainsaw blade look like my
girly chainsaw.




Slices are ready to load into the trailer. They look thin, but they
are 16 inches wide and VERY heavy.




My tractor has no problem loading the trailer.

 They need a little drying time on our yard and they will be ready to split. Another good
workout program for us.

Symphony Date 6. The last of this season.

The last concert was given by the LA Phil. They played Mozart Piano 21 and
Brahms Symphony No.1.
This concert was at 5:00 instead of 8:00, so we had a dinner date also and plenty of pastries in our French Cafe. We loved our Symphony series! Can't wait to have the next one, next winter.
My children are not enjoying our dates as much as we do. Spitz gets especially annoyed by being left home alone. He wants to take part in the symphony by eating the programs while we are gone. He pulls out the programs from the magazine rack. There are other tasty papers and maps in there to eat and the programs are tucked in between these. Spitz finds them, pulls them out and eats only those. That's a SMART doggie!

Symphony Date 5

We made it! Dug up and fixed the broken pipe, cooked dinner, walked the babies and
off we went to see The Academy of St Martin in the Fields. Joshua Bell was directing
and played Brahms Violin and Ludwig 3. Awesome concert! We had a wonderful time.
One more symphony in the series.

Symphony Dates 3 & 4

On our 3rd Symphony Date, we heard the St. Petersburg Philharmonic with Nikolai Alexeev conducting Excerpts from Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh.
Tchaikovsky Piano 1 was played by 28 yrs old, incredible Denis Kozhukhin.
He makes you cry he is so good!




  Our 4th Syphony Date, the Haifa Orchestra from Israel was conducted by Boguslaw Dawidow.
Young pianist, Roman Rabinowich, set back in an armchair and played the Rach 3 just like Rachmaninoff himself would have played it. We could not believe how great Roman played and this was the first time we have seen a concert pianist sitting in a dining chair. He is way too awesome!

The Haifa Orchestra also played Tchaikovsky Symphony 4. The 3rd movement needed a banjo or two, but they didn't bring them. Everyone was picking the instruments in this movement. When it's picking time it's banjo time. Tchaikovsky should have known that.

Symphony Date 2

Shostakovich Concerto No. 2  and Symphony No.10.
Italian dinner and a concert date with my sweet love.
Doesn't get better than this.
